Hogna carolinensis is our largest native wolf spider here in the US and they are easily one of the largest and most impressive true spiders native to North America! These large spiders usually reside in burrows during the day and come out during short windows to hunt for prey. This one I found recently in Florida was definitely one of the BIGGEST ones I had EVER seen!
